NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course
Instructor Led Only & Blended: $95
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals, regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation, and is available for delivery in two ways. One option is the traditional, instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. The other option (Blended) has two components: a self-study or “eLearning module” which is completed online in your own timeframe and a hands-on practical portion conducted in a classroom and shooting range with an Instructor.
Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.
Advanced Pistol Course (Must Have Completed Basic Pistol or CCW to Attend)
Instructor Led Only: $225
The Advanced Pistol Course takes what you learned in the Basic Pistol Course and uses it as a building block to bring your proficiency to a whole new level. In this one-day training event, you will learn skills such as: drawing and firing effectively from both open carry and concealed, engaging targets while moving, positional and off-hand techniques, urban setting considerations and much more. In addition to this advanced period of instruction, students will receive a certificate of completion from Black Cypress Solutions and a free BCS t-shirt. You already know how to shoot. Now let us teach you how use your new found skills when the target across from you isn’t paper.
NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course
Instructor Led Only: $105
The NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course is at least eight hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.
Advanced Carbine Course (Must Have Completed Basic Rifle to Attend)
Instructor Led Only: $225
The Advanced Carbine Course takes what you learned in the Basic Rifle course and uses it as a foundation to bring your skills to a whole new level. In this one-day training event, you will learn skills such as: engaging targets while moving, tactical reloads, point shooting, urban setting considerations and much more. In addition to this advanced period of instruction, students will receive a certificate of completion from Black Cypress Solutions and a free BCS t-shirt. You already know how to shoot. Now let us teach you how to use your carbine effectively, like your life depended on it…because some day, it might.
Wilderness Survival Course
Instructor Led Only: $245
This 2-day course is intended for those who wonder how they would survive in the elements if the worst were to happen.
Training begins at the trailhead with the instructor teaching you what to pack, how to pack, and even how to walk. At camp, you will be taught fire starting techniques, how to build a shelter, how to find food and water, and how to take care of your medical needs. At the end of the day, we will gather around the fire for some Q&A and stories.
The next morning after breaking camp, you will learn how to identify dangerous animals and fauna, signaling techniques and land navigation. Then it is up to the you to use your new skills to find our way home. After successful completion, students will receive a certificate of completion from Black Cypress Solutions.
Whether it be a situation as simple as getting lost in the woods, or as complex as a social collapse, are you confident in your survival skills to keep you and your family safe? After this course, you will be.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ALL COURSES
- Anyone who is prohibited by the law from possessing firearms or who has been convicted of a felonious crime of violence is ineligible for NRA trainee certification (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Federal Form 4473 lists the prohibitions)
